TMJ Arthroscopy Courses

A weekend, hands-on, three-joint cadaveric training course demonstrating the McCain Technique utilizing the McCain TMJ Arthroscopy System.

  • The training is structured to provide attendees with hands-on cadaveric exposure designed to increase the participant’s ability to perform TMJ arthroscopic procedures. Participants will be introduced to all levels of TMJ arthroscopy such as, Level I, Level II, and Level III.

  • Includes didactic lecture and lab demonstration of the first puncture technique and insertion of arthroscope, visually assisted arthrocentesis, examination of the of the Seven-Points-of-Interest; entering the anterior recess in preparation and positioning for insertion of second puncture or deposition of targeted medication.

  • Includes a lecture and cadaveric demonstration of placing the second puncture and insertion of operative port; explanation, and use of the 1.8mm arthroscopy instruments as well as radio frequency ablation and coagulation.

  • Demonstrates the reposition of the disc (i.e. discopexy). Lecture on arthroscopy complications and question-and-answer session.
