Overview
Injections are a class of chemicals that exist in two forms. They are either natural steroid hormones that are produced in the adrenal cortex of the adrenal gland on the kidneys, or are synthetic (man-made) analogues of these hormones. Examples include, Cortisone, Steroids, Hydrocortisone, and Prednisone.
Indications
Patients with a history of gastric or peptic ulcers; chronic waxing and waning of joint swelling and pain.
Precautions
Overuse can lead to drug-induced Cushing’s disease, and sodium retention that leads to high blood pressure.
